Sembawang Park was once part of the British naval base, and when it was renovated in 2011 it got a playground shaped like a battleship. It’s a quiet seaside park facing the Straits of Johor, with a beach, old pathways, two Heritage Trees and Beaulieu House nearby. Parking is free.

Why go?
The ship playground is one of the most distinctive in Singapore.
It’s a quieter park than the big city ones, with sea views.
What to do
01 · The battleship
Singapore’s National Heritage Board says the park was renovated in 2011 and now has a maritime-themed playground in the form of a battleship, a nod to the old naval base. Let kids climb aboard, then walk to the beach.
02 · Heritage on the shore
Walk the restored pathways used during the British period and look for the remains of Seletar Pier.
The park has two Heritage Trees: a longan near the fitness corner and a sea teak, about 100 years old, next to Beaulieu House.
03 · Before you swim
NEA has a water-quality advisory for Sembawang Beach, so check it before letting kids in the water. More playgrounds are in our playgrounds roundup.
