Changi Airport’s Free Singapore Tour: a free 2.5-hour city, heritage or Sentosa bus tour for transit passengers

If you’re changing planes at Changi with at least 5.5 hours to spare, you can see Singapore for free. Changi Airport runs 2.5-hour guided bus tours from the transit area every day, with two short photo stops. You pre-book online or ask at a booth in the transit hall, and you mustn’t clear immigration on your own first.

Why go?

It turns a long layover into a free first look at the city.

Changi handles the bus and the route; you just report on time.

What to do

01 · Pick a tour

Heritage and Culture: 10am to 12.30pm (report before 8.30am; flight after 2.30pm).

City Sights: 12pm to 2.30pm, and 6pm to 8.30pm.

Singapore River and Marina Bay Sands: 1pm to 3.30pm, and 4pm to 6.30pm.

Sentosa Discovery Tour: 3pm to 5.30pm, and 7pm to 9.30pm (report before 5.30pm; flight after 11.30pm).

02 · Check you’re eligible

You must be a transit or transfer passenger with checked bags through-checked to your final stop, and a layover of 5.5 to 24 hours.

Some passports need a Singapore visa. You can enter and leave Singapore only once on the layover, so it’s one tour per passenger.

03 · On the day

Stay in the transit area, go to a Free Singapore Tour booth at least 90 minutes before your tour, and bring your passport, boarding passes and booking. Wheeled or bulky cabin bags go to paid baggage storage first. More ideas in our layover guide.
