Chalkak Collective Photobooth Museum: Asia’s first self-portrait playground near Marymount

Opening hours: Mon-Sun · 10:00-23:00

If a four-cut strip never feels like enough, Chalkak Collective is built for that itch. Asia’s first photobooth museum packs four themed studios into one Halcyon Building floor near Marymount: vintage newspaper prints, a DIY keychain bar, Korean-style strips and a self-portrait atelier with a remote shutter — all for ninety minutes of unlimited shots.

Why go?

It is not a single booth. You rotate through Vintage Press Studio, Cutesy DIY Bar, K-Photo Lab and Self Portrait Atelier in one timed visit, so the keepsakes actually vary.

Craft materials for keychains, trading cards and meme sheets are included in the S$59 admission — useful if you hate paying extras at the print counter.

Every guest gets a physical Chalkak passport stamped as you go, plus high-resolution downloads tied to the email you book with.

What to do

01 · Rotate the four stations in 90 minutes

Vintage Press Studio leans archival (newspaper, vintage strips, museum receipt). Cutesy DIY Bar is where you decorate prints into keychains and trading cards — leave ~35–45 minutes if that is your priority. K-Photo Lab fits up to six for Korean-style strips. Self Portrait Atelier is the calm white-backdrop room with a wired remote shutter and live monitor, better for portraits than group chaos.

02 · Book the timed session, then travel light

Admission is a 90-minute session covering all four stations with unlimited photo-taking. Children under 10 are S$20 each (max three per booking, with at least one adult). Use the same email for booking and the digital membership so downloads land in one place.

03 · Getting there without a car

Alight at Marymount MRT (CC16), Exit B, and walk about eight minutes to Halcyon Building at 39A Jalan Pemimpin #05-02C. Buses 54, 410, 851 and 588 serve the stop opposite Marymount station for a shorter walk.

Before you go

  • Decide which station you care about most before the clock starts; DIY craft eats the most minutes.
  • Wear outfits that photograph in both monochrome vintage light and bright K-booth flash.
  • Evening sessions (after 7pm) are useful if you want the Open late window without competing with weekend afternoon groups (suggestion).
