This year’s service is on Sunday 8 November 2026 at 7.15am. It’s open to everyone, with no registration needed.

Why go?

It’s a rare chance to attend a formal act of remembrance at one of Singapore’s most significant war sites.

It remembers the armed forces of Britain and the Commonwealth and their families, the emergency services, and those lost to conflict or terrorism.

The early start means the cemetery is cool and quiet, and you can walk the rows of graves afterwards.

What to do

01 · The service

The British High Commission says the service will take place in person at Kranji War Memorial from 7.15am on Sunday 8 November. The British Chamber of Commerce lists it as running until about 9.15am. Our tip: arrive by 7am, as the service starts on time and there’s a short walk from the gate to the memorial.

02 · Get a poppy beforehand

The British Chamber of Commerce Singapore says you can pick up a poppy at its office at 137 Telok Ayer Street in the days before the service. Wearing one is a tradition, not a requirement.

03 · Stay to explore the cemetery

After the service, take time to walk the terraced rows of headstones and read the names on the memorial walls. Families with children can use it as a starting point for a conversation about the Second World War in Singapore, and our WWII sites guide suggests where to go next.
