Glowing Oceans at Science Centre Singapore: wading through a living bioluminescent lagoon, which ticket to buy and what to wear

Science Centre Singapore calls Glowing Oceans Asia’s first full-scale living bioluminescence exhibition, and the centrepiece is a lagoon you wade into in booties. It opens on 3 November 2026 for a limited run, with no end date announced. Check the age limit, dress rules and ticket combinations before you go.

Good to know

Opens 3 Nov 2026. Tue to Sun 10am to 5pm, last admission 4.15pm. Not for under-4s

Why go?

The organisms are alive. You’re seeing real bioluminescence up close, not a projection-mapping show.

The Lagoon is a wade-through space, so kids get to step into the exhibit instead of looking at it through glass.

It pairs with ONE Ocean, the centre’s ocean VR exhibition, on a combined ticket, which makes a full ocean-themed day.

What to do

01 · The Lagoon and the touch tables

The headline is the Lagoon, where you wade through water in booties provided by the centre. Around it are touch tables, Dimitri’s Desk and Darwin’s Cove, which explain how and why sea creatures make light. Plan for the lagoon to be the slowest part, as numbers are controlled.

02 · Which ticket to buy

Glowing Oceans is sold with Science Centre entry. For Singapore citizens and PRs, adults pay S$12 off-peak and child or senior tickets are S$10 peak or S$7 off-peak; standard (non-resident) tickets are S$18 for adults and S$14 for children. The Super Glow Bundle adds ONE Ocean: SG/PR adults S$23 peak or S$20 off-peak, children S$18 or S$15; standard tickets are S$30 or S$24. Prices can change, so confirm on the ticketing site.

03 · Who it suits, and the dress rules

Children under 4 aren’t admitted, and under-12s must be supervised. Wear closed-toe flat shoes and remove jewellery before going in. There are wheelchair ramps, but the lagoon itself isn’t suitable for every wheelchair, so check with the centre first.

Address

Science Centre Singapore, 15 Science Centre Road, Singapore 609081

Opening hours

From 3 Nov 2026 (limited run): Tue to Sun 10am to 5pm, last admission 4.15pm. Closed on Mondays except public and school holidays

Tickets or booking

Accessibility

Wheelchair ramps throughout, but the lagoon isn’t suitable for all wheelchairs. Not for children under 4

Before you go

  • Pick an off-peak slot. It’s cheaper, and the lagoon is calmer with fewer people (our suggestion).
  • Pack a small towel and a change of socks for younger kids.
  • Combine with ONE Ocean at Science Centre Singapore on the bundle ticket, and see our Science Centre Singapore guide for the rest of the building.
