Old Punggol Road used to run past kampungs, private zoos and pig farms. NParks has kept its bumps and its old trees and turned the first stretch into a walking trail through the new Punggol Digital District. There’s a recreated old-style bus stop, heritage signs, and a playground and forest path kids will love.

Why go?
It keeps the original undulating road, coastal forest and trees at least 50 years old, so it feels much older than the glass buildings around it.
The retro bus stop near Campus Boulevard and the heritage signs, backed by the National Heritage Board, tell the story of Kampong Punggol, its private zoos and its pig-farming days.
Kids get two play spaces that opened in December 2025: a ‘Pick Up Sticks’ Adventure Playground and a 70-metre ‘Snakes & Ladders’ Backwoods Trail.
What to do
01 · Find the old bus stop
Near Campus Boulevard, NParks has recreated the bus stop that once served residents here, with a shelter designed like Singapore’s older bus stops and signs about the area’s past.
02 · Let the kids loose
The Adventure Playground has swings for younger children and a wooden structure based on the game Pick Up Sticks, for ages 2 to 12. The Backwoods Trail is a numbered forest path laid out like a Snakes & Ladders board, leading from the Barringtonia Track to the playground.
03 · Look at the planting
The trail’s planting reflects Punggol’s original coastal forest, with native species such as the Critically Endangered Common Putat. NParks also chose trees like the Pianggu and Small-leafed Oil-fruit to attract birds.
