Race to Sustainability! Weekend Fair at Gardens by the Bay: free repair corner and laksa workshop, 24–25 October 2026

Dates: 24–25 Oct 2026 · daily 10am to 6pm

Gardens by the Bay usually asks you to look at plants. This weekend it asks you to fix, cook and make things. The Race to Sustainability! fair fills the Ficus Room and Active Garden for two days, with free entry, a free repair corner and workshops from S$10. Our pick: Sunday’s laksa session, bowl included.

Why go?

It’s free to walk in, and the Repair Discovery corner (inspired by Repair Kopitiam) fixes things for free on Saturday from 3.15pm to 6pm at Waterfront Plaza. No registration is needed.

The workshops are cheap by Singapore standards. Most cost S$10, and the Sunday laksa session with National Geographic Explorer Max Han includes a bowl of laksa.

It’s a short weekend only, so it’s easy to pair with the free outdoor gardens or the Supertrees at night.

What to do

01 · Saturday 24 October: soap, incense and microgreens

Scents of the Garden runs 1.30pm to 3pm: make a botanical cleansing bar (S$25) or incense cones (S$10). From 4pm to 5pm, Our Warming Planet shows you how to grow microgreens (S$28). Bring a small broken item for the free Repair Discovery corner at Waterfront Plaza, 3.15pm to 6pm.

02 · Sunday 25 October: laksa, hankies and insects

Start at 10am with the ocean-to-plate laksa workshop with Max Han (S$10, 10am to 11.30am, laksa included). After lunch, dye a botanical handkerchief (S$10, 1.30pm to 3pm). Kids can join Tiny Garden Heroes, an insect expedition from 4pm to 5.30pm (S$35).

03 · See the NAFA art show on the way out

A NAFA student art exhibition runs alongside the fair until 29 November, 9am to 9pm, in the foyer beside The Canopy ticketing counter. It’s free.
