Dates: 5 Dec 2026 – 3 Jan 2027 · trees lit daily 7pm to 11.59pm
Most Christmas lights in Singapore belong to a mall. Gardens-A-Glow is decorated by the public: schools, companies, community groups and families each dress a living tree, and for four weeks the Botanic Gardens glow with about 250 of them. You can just visit after dark, or join in and decorate one yourself in November.

Why go?
It’s community-made. Each of the roughly 250 trees is decorated by a different group, so the walk feels like a festive show-and-tell.
It’s free and open late. The trees are lit from 7pm until midnight every night from 5 December 2026 to 3 January 2027.
The trees are living, and NParks says they’ll be planted in parks after the season.
What to do
01 · Decorate a tree (14 to 29 November)
Register interest for a free public decorating slot, or sponsor a tree with a donation of S$800 or more to the Garden City Fund. Organisers ask decorators to bring reusable decorations.
02 · Walk the trees after dark
Enter from the Botanic Gardens MRT gate after 7pm, when the trees light up. Bring a torch for darker paths away from the displays (suggestion).
03 · Make it a family picnic
Arrive before sunset with a picnic mat, eat on the lawn, then walk the lights once it’s dark (suggestion).
